Scott Porter

December 17, 1960 - February 24, 2022

Roni Scott Porter -- known to family and friends as "Scott" -- passed away unexpectedly Feb. 24, 2022, at his home in Arvada, Colorado. He was 61.

A native Coloradan, Scott had a long and successful career in the beverage industry. At the time of his death, he was Administration Manager at Premier Draft Beer Services which he joined 3 1/2 years ago. Previously he was Draught Beer Manager at Breakthru Beverage in Aurora, Colorado, where he worked for almost 18 years.

As his boss, Rick Raisch said: "Scott… put his hand on almost every draft system in the state at some point in his life," adding, "He was always excited about our future prospects, growing our company..."

In his more than 30-year career, he was well-known throughout the Denver area and Colorado for his work in the industry and his dedication to his co-workers and customers.

Scott was a loyal friend to many and he treasured these friendships. He was known for his storytelling and sense of humor. He was passionate about golf, cooking and grilling and the Colorado outdoors, especially in the Spring and Fall.

Scott is survived by his sister, Vikki Porter of La Quinta, CA, his nieces, Ashlee Porter Page of Prescott Valley, AZ, and Taylor Porter of Denver, and three aunts who are now in their 90s and a score of cousins. He was predeceased by his older brother, Randy Jay, in 2019.

A celebration of life for Scott will be held at 11 a.m. MT on April 24 at the Applewood Golf Club in Golden, Colorado. For information and to RSVP, contact Vikki at [email protected].

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the American Heart Association (https://bit.ly/3r3I0YU), the Nature Conservancy or the Colorado Humane Society.

Carla Ainsley Scott, my dear cousin, I remember the 4th of July celebrations in CA. So much fun swimming, eating watermelon and blowing up firecrackers. Such a young life taken to soon like your dad and Randy. I love you!

Kristi Raahidi I worked with Scott for many years at Breakthru Beverage. He was a skilled, supportive, instrumental part of our Beer Team. We could not have been successful without him. He was a hard worker and team player. I am so saddened by the news of his passing. He left us too young. Prayers for his family during this very difficult time.
