Huey Barkett, known to friends and family as "King", of San Mateo, California passed away in Palo Alto, California on June 26th, 2022 at the age of 73.
King was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on June 2nd, 1949 to Lee Dewey and Rosemary Barkett. He attended Crestmoor High School and graduated with the class of 1967. A life-long tradesman, his father & son business King's Flooring spent 45 years operating throughout California.
King was happiest when he was with his family in a boat on the lake, watching his favorite westerns, cheering on the Giants, 49ers & Warriors, or riding his motorcycle. He also enjoyed playing pool with his friends, cooking a big pot of jambalaya, and creating art in the form of stained glass windows and wood workings.
He is survived by his brother Lee Dewey Barkett, his children Kelli Barkett-Magill, Aaron Barkett, Katie Jurow, and Jade Barkett, and grandchildren Luke & Maddie Jurow. He was predeceased by parents Lee Dewey Barkett & Rosemary Telford Barkett, and aunts Margie Polk & Evelyn Cook.
