"Theresa McGonigle Justice formerly of Oakland, CA and recently of Martinez, CA., beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at the age of 94 on
August 31, 2021 with her family by her side.
Theresa was a strong and warm-hearted woman; the anchor of the Justice family.
She dedicated her life to her family and always found a way to care for others and make you laugh.
Theresa was known for her incredible sense of humor. Whether she was playing tricks on the kids she was baby sitting or feeding her boss trick candy on April Fools', Theresa wanted to make people laugh. And whenever it was someone's birthday, you were guaranteed to get a call from her favorite singing teddy bear playing the Happy Birthday song."
All those who knew Theresa will gladly tell you of her passion for being Irish, her appetite for chocolate and cold beer, and her enthusiasm for the holidays. But nothing was as important to Theresa as Christmas. Every year, Theresa was the first to put up her tree and the last to take it down. She loved that time of year because it reminded her that, even in the hardest of times, there was always something worth celebrating and being grateful for.
Through Theresa's long life, she was triumphant in all things and leaves behind a great legacy of compassion, laughter, and love for her family. While her loss will be mourned, her spirit will be forever cherished. Now, Theresa will be rejoining her parents, her siblings, and beloved daughter, Sharon.
