Mena was called to be with our Lord on Thursday, August 15 after a brief illness. Mena was born on March 30, 1951 in the Philippines. Mena lived in San Jose and Sacramento, returning back to the Monterey Peninsula in the mid 1980’s.
Mena loved watching movies, so upon her retirement, she worked at Cinemark Theaters in Monterey, where she was beloved by her co-workers and customers.
Mena is preceded in death by her mother, Lolita, her father, Vic Sr., and her older sister, Mila. She is survived by her sisters, Mary (Robert) and Mirna and her brothers, Vic Jr. (Cecilia) and Mark. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and countless friends. Mena loved BIG, and was kind and generous to everyone she knew.
The family wishes to thank the staffs at CHOMP and Windsor Care Center for Mena’s care during her last few weeks. A special thank you to St. Jude’s Church Community in Marina where Mena was an active parishioner. Fr. Ronnie, her pastor, visited Mena two days before she passed. Father asked Mena what she wanted, and she responded, “I want to go home.” Now she is in her eternal home with the Lord.
Services will be shared once finalized.
