Nancy Lynn McElroy Sweeney was born in Oakland, California, on June 9, 1958, to Lucille and Lewis McElroy; she joined older sister Julie, where they grew up amongst family and friends on their treasured Princeton Street.
In August 2024, Nancy was reunited with her parents at long last, as well as a plethora of family and friends, that have undoubtedly welcomed her Home with smiling faces and the warmest hugs. The furry loves of her life, Buster and Cece, surely ran into their mommy’s arms with wagging tails and endless kisses.
Nancy leaves behind her children, Stephanie and Lewis, daughter-in-law Ana, as well as beloved grandsons Leo and Axel. She leaves sister Julie (Cal), her nieces and nephews, Candace, Kimberly, Michelle, and Erik, and their children Rachelle, Isaac and Kamora; Best friend Joanne Potter; Step mother Jean, and step sister Janice, as well as countless nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Nancy’s life was not easy, but she still managed to love unconditionally through every adversity she faced. Even in the unkindest of situations, she remained kind.
She loved animals, gardening, sunshine, and simplicity; and will now spend eternity, peacefully enjoying the things that she cherished most, with precious loved ones by her side.
Nancy’s Earthly battle has ended, but her memory will live on forever, in all those that loved her.
